About me

I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Melbourne. With a few life detours along the way, I have been writing up my dissertation.

In my Bachelor of Arts I majored in anthropology and political science. I completed an honours year in anthropology. Much of my employment has been in the community sector.

My fieldwork was in the suburb of Port Melbourne. I set out to undertake fieldwork because I wanted to use people’s experience and observations to better understand of what community life is like in their suburb, neighbourhood and street. This blog was set up during my fieldwork.

  1. Hi Tracey,

I live in Port Melbourne and have recently signed up to become a Waterfront Welcomer, a team of volunteers who will welcome cruise ship passengers to Port Melbourne and the local environs, etc. I have just written my latest blog post about living in Port Melbourne; I’d love you to have a look at it and let me know what you think please (and follow my blog if you feel so inclined as well…)

I look forward to reading more about your project too.

    Regards,
    Genevieve
